The long awaited settlement of a Waitangi claim has allowed the five Ngati Whatua marae of south Kaipara to begin a new chapter in their development. Paradigm worked with artist Bernard Makoare to design an identity referencing five mangopare (hammerhead sharks) for the five marae. This work includes images and graphics drawn from Kaipara traditions and history, and variations of the identity apply across a number of related organisations established to further the work of Nga Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara.
