Threats to Seabirds of Northern Aotearoa New Zealand

The New Zealand Seabird Trust researches and monitors the health of our seabirds, with particular interest in the northern east coast and Hauraki Gulf. It is clear from their reports that although we are regarded as the world’s ‘seabird capital’, most of our birds are in serious decline with some close to extinction. These lavishly illustrated reports demonstrate not just seabird science, but also the rare beauty of our stunning seabirds. More protection is urgently required as the reports recommend.
